Here at The Psych Establishment we offer a suite of supervision services tailored to your professional needs. All of our supervision is conducted by our Principle Practitioner Vincent Cook who has over two decades experience as an AHPRA approved supervisor. It is estimated that Vincent has conducted over 4000 hours of supervision and has guided countless clinicians through the registration process and beyond. Vincent is passionate about supporting fellow professionals to become the best Psychologists they can be and imparting his experience and skill-set on them in a genuine and caring manner.

What We Offer

Supervision catering for the 4 + 2 registration pathway

The Psych Establishment offers supervision for Provisional Psychologist’s who are beginning their journey as young professionals in the rewarding yet challenging career of Psychology. Vincent can supervise Provisional’s as either a Primary or Secondary supervisor. Supervision can occur at The Psych Establishment’s inviting office on Darby Street but may also be available elsewhere at the Provisional’s request. Vincent has great knowledge and experiences of the AHPRA 4+2 guidelines and has successfully guided many interns through submission of Case Studies (reports), the National Psychology Exam, ethical dilemmas, professional limitations reflections and the varied and many psychometric tests that are required as part of the internship process. Vinny is an advocate of Daphne Hewson’s supervision triangle and sessions regularly aim to address the varied systemic, clinical and personal issues that a young professional navigates through on a daily basis throughout their internship journey and beyond. Interns who choose to work with The Psych Establishment will on request also have access to our resources, including research articles and psychometric tools. Supervision sessions can be weekly for an hour or fortnightly for two. Beyond this, we are open to supervising interns as much or as little as their client-contact hours require.

Supervision for the 5 + 1 registration pathway

Vincent also has experience supervising those who are completing an internship through the 5+1 pathway. Much like the 4+2 Vincent is available as either a Primary or Secondary supervisor. The location of these settings can also be variable and depends on consultation between both parties. Those seeking this option can contact us here at The Psych Establishment for a friendly discussion about supervision.

Group Supervision

Provisional’s completing the 4+2 pathway have the option of engaging in group supervision with other interns as part of their supervision journey. Such an opportunity allows them to present cases to supervisors and other provisionals and work collaboratively on challenging issues and topics. The Psych Establishment offers regular group supervision sessions and these sessions can be counted as Secondary supervision. Availability and frequency is contingent on group numbers and always occur here at The Psych Establishment.

Supervision for General/Clinical Psychologists

Vincent is also eligible to provide ongoing supervision to fellow professionals who are Generally or Clinically registered with AHPRA. The frequency of this supervision is often monthly and the location can be variable. At The Psych Establishment we value reflective practice and believe that ongoing supervision is an important process which enables clinicians to best support all of their clients. It also allows an emphasis to be placed on self-care, a vital aspect of any allied health career.

Supervision for Forensic Masters Students/those seeking Forensic Endorsement

As Vincent has an endorsement as a Forensic Psychologist he is approved to provide ongoing supervision to students undertaking a Forensic Masters degree or those professionals seeking endorsement themselves. As this service is the least requested of our supervision services those seeking this option can get in touch via the “contact us” tab at the top of the screen.

Fees

Vincent charges $190 per hour for supervision however this price can be discussed during the initial supervision session. Here at The Psych Establishment we respect that many Provisional’s volunteer in approved roles or are paid minimally, as such we are open to discussing payment options on an individual basis and aim to find a resolution that best suits all parties.
