Located close to the popular Beaumont St Hamilton, and a stone’s throw away from Broadmeadow train station. The Psych Establishment has relocated to 9 ways in Broadmeadow right next door to The Children’s court and Harvey Norman warehouse and the Premier Inn. We are in the Konara building. The private off-street parking for The Psych Establishment is in the H Plus designated spots (3 on mezzanine level and 1 on the First floor). There is a disabled spot on level 1. Parking is NOT metered and as such there are no extra fees/ costs associated with your visit.
The Psych Establishment sees a mixture of private and public clients and aims to accommodate clients from all economic backgrounds. We apply a sliding scale and costs range from $240 to $318 per hour (based on a 50 minute plus, session at the practice).
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) clients are welcome and encouraged. We are on the panel as an OPC for Open Arms.
Medicare claims require a Mental health plan developed by your Doctor and then referred to The Psych Establishment.
Please note that if you have been told that you have to come to get treatment from your Community Corrections Officer, that the Medicare rebate does not apply. Forensic Psychology Sessions are billed privately at $270 + GST = $297 per session.
Forensic Psychology sessions provided for community organisations or private companies are $318 + GST = $350 per session. These sessions are based on a 50 minute session at the practice. For report writing and preparation these are charged at the same rate per hour. Report writing is charged in 6 minute intervals at $35.00 + GST = $35.00 per block.
Vincent Cook, Practice Principal & Forensic Psychologist, The Psych Establishment:
Vinny has been Registered as a Psychologist since 1995. He has an endorsement for working in the field of Forensic Psychology.
He has extensive experience in working with both adults and adolescents.
He has worked in Sydney and the rural and remote areas ranging from Central Coast, Orange, Bathurst, Broken Hill, Bourke, Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes, Grafton, Tweed Heads, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Kempsey, Wagga Wagga, Cessnock, Taree, and Newcastle. He currently provides peer supervision to experienced Psychologists. It is approximated that he has provided over 4,000 hours of supervision since 1998.
He specialises in forensic psychology, and in addition to working in the community has worked in a variety of institutions helping clients with anxiety, trauma, phobias, depression and the full range of psychological presentations in difficult environments.
He is registered for clients from DVA (as per DVA requirements, at no extra cost to the client). He is on the panel as an OPC for Open Arms.
Please note: DVA, Open Arms and Medicare are not eligible to be used for forensic clients.
Report writing, intervention, and treatment for offending behaviours is an area of specialty for forensic psychologists. He has provided reports for a range of statutory bodies for adults & adolescents.
